Is it possible that what I wrote in 2017 somehow became reality in 2019?
When I happened to read a Twitter user, Deep Prasad—whom I didn’t know at all—sharing a personal experience that matched entirely with the plot of my novel, I was without a doubt the first one to be surprised.
I believe it’s reasonable to think that the details of what happened go beyond mere coincidence, but judge for yourselves based on the evidence.

1st VERSION OF THE NOVEL (MAY 2017)
I wrote the first draft of the novel in 2017, during a sabbatical period I spent in Formentera. I uploaded that first text to Google Drive back then and didn’t touch it again until a year later, during a course at the writing school in Barcelona
The text turned some of my theories about the origin of the UFO phenomenon into fiction. The protagonist, a young scientist, receives a visit from a bedroom visitor that makes him question much of what he had believed until then, and introduces him into the world of mystery and UFOs.
DEEP HAS HIS EXPERIENCE (FEBRUARY 2019)
According to what Deep Prasad shared on his Twitter account, in February 2019 he had a life-changing experience, which closely resembles what happens to Ramith, the protagonist of my novel—who also shows astonishing personal and professional similarities with him.
Deep didn’t share it on Twitter until months later, in November 2019. By then, my novel was only a draft that I hadn’t published anywhere.

DEEP MAKES IT PUBLIC (NOVEMBER 2019)
A few days after reading his account of the events, I decided to contact him on LinkedIn and tell him what had happened. To prove that everything was true, I recorded a video of my Google Drive showing that the date of the synopsis I had written was earlier than the day his experience had taken place.
Deep shared his surprise with me and even mentioned some details of the story that he hadn’t made public until then, which also matched what I had written.

FINAL VERSION OF THE BOOK (AGST 2020)
I don’t have an answer as to how or why that synchronicity happened. In fact, I don’t believe it necessarily has to carry a deep meaning beyond pure chance. But I must admit that the experience gave me the push I needed to finally finish the novel and publish it online.
The only thing I am certain of is that what we experience is just a small fraction of reality, limited by our senses and interpreted by our brain. And that the universe is a much stranger and more astonishing place than we can imagine.
